Philias Gautreau, 88, of Villa Providence Shediac and formerly of Pré-d'en-Haut, died Sunday at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton.

Born in Pré-d'en Haut, he was a son of the late Richard and Lydia (Belliveau) Gautreau. He was a retired employee of CN with more than 25 years service. He attended the Villa Providence chapel.

His first wife, Claira (LeBlanc), died in 1974. His second wife, Dora (Arsenault), died in 1977. He is survived by two daughters, Léonie Roy of Moncton and Mrs. Léo-Paul Cormier (Camilla) of Fox, Creek; one son, Léopold of Moncton, eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a niece and a nephew. A sister, Vitaline; and a brother, Anthony, died previously.

The body is at Chartersville Funeral Home, Dieppe. Funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday at l'Annonciation Roman Catholic Church, Pré-d'en Haut, at 7 p.m. Burial will be in L'Annonciation parish cemetery, Pré-d'en Haut.
